David, as a boy, worshipped God by the still waters as he tended sheep. As a young man he played music to comfort a King. When he was King himself he praised God in the Tent of the Tabernacles. I was so moved by the fact that David had the privilege of worshiping the King of Kings. God our heavenly Father, in His temple with the Ark of the Covenant. How amazing to be that close to the presence of God! Then my creative mind wondered - David didn't get to play in the actual tabernacle because his son Soloman was the one whom God blessed to build the glorious structure. What would it have been like to stand inside that beautiful building with gold, marble and intricate carvings and the Ark of the Covenant containing His Spirit? Oh, to hear the notes resound off of the temple walls! Wow and extra Wow! But then I had a beautiful revelation. We are the body of Christ. We as His living temple are a Covenant people. He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to take up permanent residence in the heart of every believer. David could not step into the Holy of Holies; only a High Priest, cleansed and set apart by God could enter directly into His presence. When I was marveling about this, overwhelmed and in tears, I asked God if I could play in the temple in His heavenly realm. As I researched to find out more about what the temple would be like I found a description of what the city will be like in Revelation 21. Verse 22 astounded me, "I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lord are its temple". This magnificence is beyond my comprehension. What a heavenly sound to be in and of His midst. It is no wonder that the sounds of heaven are so supreme. We are called to be Kingdom people, as Kings and Priests in the presence of the Lord. Leviticus 26:11 states, "I will put my dwelling place among you" The distance between heaven and earth is a breath to God. In the bible the book of Revelation communicates a vision of heaven. God is beyond our greatest imaginations. To hear the sounds, the heavenly sounds, as they bouce with echoes off of the temple walls. To hear the angels sing with us in glorious harmony. Close your eyes with me and let's listen with our hearts to the wonders of the One who sits on the Throne.
